A shitstorm is exactly what I was thinking - the least they could do is give a notion of 'being up' even if they don't have active repositories or login systems; (reset all credentials, isolate, etc) and at least have a presence. Kind of embarrassing to see how it's handled compared to how Apache.org dealt with theirs some time ago.
